November 1st 2012
Just like the other poor time management
time, I was late to my work placement, because I missed the bus.
After I work, I got back home and doing
some laundry while getting ready to go to Pier 21, because we have our
volunteering activity there, to help the Time raiser auction. I was very late to
come to Pier 21, because I missed the bus. Second, there was an accident, so
there was a 40 minutes traffic jam and then I missed the connecting bus from
downtown to pier 21.
So that’s why I came really late, good
thing that the event has not started yet, so I still volunteered there. Anyway,
I met a nice old man in the bus, I asked him how to get to pier 21, and I asked
a lot. He offered his help because I brought my map, and I looked confused.
When I arrived in Scotia Square, one of
the busiest bus stops in town, I asked people how to get to Pier 21 by bus.
There was a friendly old couple that shows me which bus to take. I was
desperately need to pee that time, so when the bus number 8 came, I was hurried
to get in.
Surprisingly, it was me, the only passenger
that took the bus. The bus driver asked me couple of question, and we talked a
lot. The friendly bus driver stopped the bus and I said thank you and ran
quickly to pier 21. The first thing that I did when I arrived at Pier 21 was,
asking the receptionist, “Excuse me, can you show me where is the washroom?”.
We volunteered in Time raiser auction, so
there were a lot of beautiful paintings by some famous artist, and people bid
it with time—volunteering time, not by money. The maximum time bid is 40 hours
of volunteering in some organization, one of the organization is Ecology Action
Center, Reid and Dima’s work placement.
Dun dun dun, these are our
volunteering picture.
Yen and the paintings.
