9th day : work harder, dear Volunteers!

October 19th 2012,

One of the productive day in Adsum House. We worked from 10 a.m till 3 p.m. We sort the food in the food storage room, helping a resident moving out by packed her some kitchen utensil and other stuffs, and we sort donations. That day was quiet hard for me. It was hard for me to adapt with my work partner, Ariane. We faced a busy day, we had a little misunderstanding, because of the communication  problem. She is a francophone, and I am not a native speaker either. So we had some difficulties to interpret the instructions from our work supervisor, especially in finding and packing things for the resident who want to move out, because the list of the things is in English, and for some things, I really have no idea what it was.

I went back home after a hard and emotional day at my work placement and I hugged my counterpart. I told her what I faced that day, and that was the first time I feel so comfortable with her. Later on that day, we had pizza for dinner. Yen and pizza saved the day.

I do not have any picture of that day. All that I can write in this post is just the expeience that I had in my work placement that day.
