18th day : Youth Pledge Day of Indonesia (Hari Sumpah Pemuda)

October 28th 2012

I woke up, saw my surrounding, it was me and Tika that slept on the couch in the living room. The other girls were still sleeping. I went to washroom and did my business, and then went to the kitchen drink plenty of water, and began to write my journal on the dining table. One by one the girl started to woke up, and one by one these girls getting ready to leave and cleaned Tika’s house before leaving.

Yen and I waited about twenty minutes in the bus stop near Tika’s house till the bus came. We talked pretty much important things, an evaluation about what did we’ve been talked last night.

We stopped by Tim Hortons at Quinpool Rd, the bigger one, not the one that Ariane and I usually visited. She recommends me to order an everything Bagels with jalapeno thingie, sorry I don’t remember the menu’s name, but it was good, because it’s spicy and I really miss spicy food.

We walked back home, took a nap and getting ready to go to YMCA in Spring Garden, for a ceremony of Youth Pledge Day of Indonesia. Indonesian call it Hari Sumpah Pemuda.

That was the first formal Indonesian ceremony that I experienced outside of my own country. It felt deeply absorbed inside, I really appreciate my country, the nationalism and patriotism of a person will be coming out when you hear your national anthem, while you’re far far away from your country. How I love Indonesia.

In the evening, we had our routine agenda, Sunday Supper with families and friends.
After we had dinner, Yen and I trying to find what we can wear for Halloween in Ellen’s wardrobe, after we had the permission from Evelyn, of course. This is when Yen changed her decision, she will not be the incredible girl, but she will be a cheesy aerobic instructor for Halloween.

This year, when I contacted Yen what did she dressed up like, she said, lumberjack. Lol. A sexy lumberjack, she should bring the ax everywhere! Great, for Halloween in 2013, she dressed like a lumberjack and went to the pub, while I dressed in my nursing uniform, sitting calmly on the chair in my class, listening to the lecture.
